just 24 hours out from the iowa caucuses.... the presidential candidates are making their last stops in the state. good evening, thanks for joinin us. i'm jannay towne. hillary clinton and bernie sanders are side by side in the sprint to the finish line.. clinton has a three point advantage over sanders in the final des moines register bloomberg politics iowa poll. it shows martin o'malley polling at just three percent. kristen welker is following the democratic race.. the democratic candidates criss- crossed iowa late into the night saturday with just hours to go. an event in sioux city on caucus morning, he will make his last pitch to iowa voters in waterloo at eleven. senator ted cruz spent part of his sunday at church in west des moines. cruz greeted worshipers at lutheran church of hope. he told reporters he heeded the pastor's call to pray for his political opponents. cruz has three stops today... after capping off a week of campaigning across the state. our political director dave price will have live coverage of his event tonight at the iowa state fairgrounds. the latest polls aren't intimidating some of the candidates at the back of the pack... today, 2008 caucus winner, mike huckabee, told voters in valley junction he won't disappoint monday night. channel 13's reid chandler is following the former arkansas governor .. 62 year old kirk blunck was found dead at the "teachout building" in the east village last sunday. police say these two people may have been in or near the building at the time. anyone with information on the potential witnesses is asked to call police. authorities determined that blunck fell down a flight of stairs on january 24th. there was no indication he'd been assaulted. politics aside, the other big story is the weather. a blizzard watch is now in effect for tuesday. meteorologist amber alexander is tracking the winter storm and has the latest on the timing of it all. just ahead on the channel 13

it's a bit conceptual for dessert -- but ben cohen, the co-founder of ben & jerry's, hopes this is an easy notion to swallow. "we've never done anything like this." his new, extremely limited edition ice cream flavor is "bernie's yearning." "it sounds great! anything to honor bernie sanders!" the presidential candidate is one of the biggest names to come out of burlington, vermont since -- maybe ben and jerry themselves. "he's doing a lot better a lot earlier than we expected." cohen's canvassing for sanders in iowa ahead of the caucuses. before he took off -- he took out his home ice cream maker... and whipped up a batch of mint chocolate chip. though -- all the chips are in one solid mass at the top. reflecting, cohen explains, how sanders sees too much new wealth in the united states as going to the top 1% "and you break it up into a lot of little pieces." more income needs to go to the

and wind speeds will increase as well. winds will be strong from the north-northeast at 15 to 25 mph, gusts to 35 mph. this will create very difficult driving conditions all day on tuesday and for the start of wednesday. a winter storm watch is in effect for those southwest and southeast of des moines until tuesday night. most of monday will remain dry for those caucusing around the state. light snow will begin falling late monday as the bigger system approaches but shouldn't be much of a problem for those driving home during the evening. the bigger problems will move in for the morning
